Appeals
If you are unsuccessful in securing a place for your child, you have the right to appeal that decision. All admissions appeals (including in-year admissions appeals) for St Martin's School are managed by the Statutory Appeal Team at Essex County Council.
An online form and other relevant information, is available to you via this link. Key dates are as follows:

| 15 April 2024 | Deadline for submitting appeals |
| Up to 18 June 2024 | Appeals heard for those submitted by the deadline |
| Up to 23 July 2024 | Appeals heard where possible, for late appeals (last day of term: 23 July 2024) |
| September 2024 onwards | Appeals heard for any appeals not heard before 23 July 2024 |
Open Evening

We have an open evening on Thursday 12 September from 5.00pm- 8.00pm. There will be a Headteacher's presentation for Year 6 primary school students and their parents/carers in the South Hall from 5.00pm. The presentations will be repeated at 5.40pm, 6.20pm, 7.00pm and 7.45pm. Tickets will be allocated for each session as parent and carers arrive on site at the main school reception.
Alternatively, we would be happy to welcome you for our small group tours which take place in September, by appointment only on the following dates:

Experience Days
In our efforts to make your child's introduction to St Martin's School, and the general secondary school experience, as positive as possible, we offer a number of experience days for Year 5 and Year 6 pupils.
Primary Enrichment Days
These 'whole day' experiences bring Year 5 pupils, accompanied by their current teachers, from our valued feeder primary schools to engage with our school across a series of exciting challenges.
Year 6 Taster Days
In the summer prior to joining us, Year 6 students have the opportunity to meet St Martin's School staff and students, tour the school and participate in secondary school learning experiences, which help us to identify any specific needs and aspirations before the students' officials arrival in September.
