Throughout the school all pupils will be taught in single gender groups and will take part in a full variety of activities (e.g. Netball, Rugby, Football, Cross Country, Basketball, Tennis, Table Tennis, Trampolining, Swimming, Life Saving, Rounders, Cricket and Badminton). Students will be encouraged to push themselves to their physical potential, taking on challenges with courage and determination. During key stage 4/5 students will have the option to study GCSE/A-Level PE. From September 2017 the college will also be running a BTEC Sport and Leisure course, which is expected to be a popular course.
All students will have the opportunity to participate in a vast array of extra-curricular clubs. From lessons and clubs, staff will select teams to represent the school at many sporting fixtures. In the last two academic years, St Martin’s students have completed well over 600 competitive fixtures every year. This has led to significant achievement at local, regional, county and national levels.
