I have had a brilliant, rewarding placement at St Martin’s. I have learnt and improved so much and I would like to say a huge thank you to my mentor. My mentor has been outstanding and has really gone above and beyond to help me improve. Thank you to everyone at St Martin’s from my professional tutor, to my form tutor, to other form tutors in the year for making me feel so welcome. I will miss St Martin’s and I am so grateful to have had this amazing opportunity.
I feel very privileged to have been able to do my training at St Martin’s. The standard of teaching is exemplary as is the overall culture and ethos at the school. I could not have wished for a better place to do my training nor could I have had a more supportive and exceptional mentor.
The support I have received from staff members in my department has been exceptional and I am very grateful for my experience here at St Martin’s. I have been guided and supported from lesson to lesson and have been able to take on board all guidance and advice given to develop my confidence in teaching.
The school has very friendly staff who guide and support you through the process delicately but with maximum positive effect on your learning.
I have enjoyed every minute of my teacher training at St Martin’s. Both my mentor and the department have been exceptional in helping and guiding me through the placement and providing support at all times. I have felt continually challenged but at the same time comfortable to ask for guidance and support where it is required. The work and team ethic of the department has continually made me feel like a solid member of the team. The variety of activities on offer in the department at St Martin’s has given me a vast experience of teaching and hugely increased my confidence. I have learnt a huge amount from observing the teaching of staff at the school including behaviour management techniques that I will carry with me for the entirety of my career. The huge range of extracurricular activities at St Martin’s has also helped me grow in confidence, sense of responsibility and independence.
I have really enjoyed my placement at St Martin’s and found the induction to teaching hugely supportive and informative. I have received excellent support and training within my department and particularly from my mentors who have supported me when trying new techniques in the classroom and helped me to make huge improvements in my confidence and teaching. The department has been incredibly welcoming and I really feel part of the team. I will be sad to leave! The professional meetings have been a great opportunity to learn more about the wider school and have been a valued chance to meet other NQTs and new staff who are also learning. I would definitely recommend St Martin’s for any new NQTs and PGCE students because the support has been excellent.
I have really enjoyed my time at St Martin’s; all staff members have made me feel welcome and a part of the team. There is a great atmosphere within the school, which is a credit to both the staff and pupils.
The one-to-one support I received from my mentor during my training year has been invaluable. Her knowledge of the subject, as well as teaching and learning strategies, has really pushed me to improve. That support was matched by colleagues throughout my department – as well as the ITT co-ordinator – and meant I was treated as a valued member of the faculty from day one.
